"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." (John 16:22) Jesus said this to friends who were about to lose Him. He did not tell them their sorrow was small. He told them it would not have the last word.

Happiness rises and falls with our circumstances. The joy He gives does not. It is secure because He is coming back, and nothing in this world can reach it or take it away.
