You look at your life like the job should have been done by now. The same worry, the same mistakes, the parts of you that still aren't fixed, and you read all of it as proof you're failing.

Philippians 1:6 changes what you're even looking at. Being imperfect isn't failing here, it's just what a work in progress looks like. Think about a house that's still going up. Exposed wiring, dust all over the floor, drywall with no paint on it. Nobody calls that house a failure, they call it unfinished. Then look at who the verse puts in charge. He who began the good work is the One who carries it on, so your growth doesn't ride on your willpower. It rides on who God is.
